Today 13th jan was GULLS Day...In the morning this is the sight i got to see...full force of black headed gulls at airoli.. Our vantage point ...guess..
the terrace of the public toilet at the holdingpond .Julius discovered this wonderful perch for us ..we got up the iron ladder and onto the terrace. the terrace is well hidden from the public eye due to the presence of a lot of trees and gave us a good view of the pond and the birding activity. All these pics are from the perch. A wonderful sight of the gulls flying .a picture postcard view.

While watching the gulls , this chap quietly emerged from the bushes..a fantail flycatcher.
Julius was quick to spot it and i got a picture a not so good one ..may be one for the record.







After the excellent sightings at pond we went ahead into the creek and were rewarded with a sighting of the clamorous reed warbler.












This shy bird rarely comes out. We were waiting in the bushes for nearly an hour to get this shot.
Finally we got to see the red vented and white cheeked bulbuls looking away from each other...or keeping guard....you decide.
